by amelia brockman on August 6, 2011

The new “blog” I’m working on today is being set up to look more like a traditional website than a blog, using WordPress as a Content Management System (CMS). My First 24 Hours with Thesis Theme

by amelia brockman on July 20, 2011

I’ve downloaded and installed Thesis and have now had 24 hours to look at it, which isn’t nearly enough to have dug too deeply into it, but enough to have me thoroughly frustrated. My initial reaction . . . dang! I feel like I’m back where I started one month ago. One month ago I [...]

Once a domain name has been purchased, the next step is to setup  hosting of the domain. Hosting basically just means having a place to store the files which are being created. There are hundreds of host sites all over the Internet from which to choose who are willing to do this for you for [...]

Register a Domain Name

by amelia brockman on June 24, 2011

Step one, choosing a name. This step was so exciting for me that I went off and grabbed three domain names — this one plus two more!  Then I caught control of myself or who knows how much further I could have gone. I think it could easily become overwhelming. (Besides, GoDaddy.com occasionally runs a [...]
